Litter Genie refills: what fits XL, XL+ and Easy Roll
Match your Litter Genie pail to Standard, Jumbo or Easy Roll refills, including Platinum, and check whether you need a cartridge or bag-only film.
Litter Genie Easy Roll and Platinum pails need Easy Roll refills, not the square Standard or Jumbo cartridges. If your pail uses a square cartridge, check its exact model before ordering: XL and XL+ do not take the same range of refills. Manufacturer’s fit chart.
The easily missed exception is XL. It takes the square Standard refill, but not Jumbo or Eco Jumbo. XL+ accepts all three square options. A bigger refill is not automatically a match for a bigger pail. Jumbo compatibility.
We checked the US manufacturer’s chart and product pages on October 13, 2026. This is a guide to buying genuine refills for an existing pail, based on published compatibility rather than hands-on fit testing. There are no affiliate links.
Start with the pail you own
Use the exact model name from your receipt, packaging or saved product page. Keep the plus sign if there is one. If you cannot tell whether you own XL or XL+, confirm the model with Litter Genie support before placing a refill order.

Square cartridge or tear-off bags?
Standard, Jumbo and Eco Jumbo are square-cartridge refills with continuous film. Easy Roll uses pre-perforated bags on a roll. Those are different refill formats, not two pack sizes of the same cartridge. Refill format guide.
For Platinum, choose the Easy Roll format even though the pail’s name does not say “Easy Roll.” Its product page explicitly names that refill. Platinum refill details.
Check the refill name as well as the pail name on the listing. “Standard pail” and “Standard refill” describe different parts of the purchase.
Bag-only Genuine Film does not include a cartridge
Litter Genie also sells Refill Bags - Genuine Film to replenish an empty Standard or Jumbo cartridge. The cartridge is not included. That option makes sense only if you already have a compatible cartridge to reuse; it is not a substitute for buying one when you need the whole refill assembly. Genuine Film details.
Our shopping check: put the cartridge you already own beside your order details. Match the cartridge to the pail using the table above, then check whether the listing sells a filled cartridge or film only. Replenishing a Jumbo cartridge does not change its pail compatibility.
Save the refill, not just the brand
Once you have confirmed the match, our suggested reorder note is:
