Petcube vs. Furbo: what’s free and what costs extra
Compare Petcube Cam 360 and Furbo 360° Dog Camera: free features, US billing terms, and two-year costs with and without a subscription.

If you want to open an app and see what your pet is doing, you can skip the subscription on Petcube Cam 360 or the standalone Furbo 360° Dog Camera. Petcube costs less to buy. Furbo adds treat tossing and a basic barking alert without a plan. Petcube, Furbo’s included features.

You can also take a photo or start a video manually in Petcube’s app while watching. To browse events recorded while you weren’t watching, you need Care. Its history uses 30-second clips, so don’t expect uninterrupted footage of the whole day. App FAQ, Care features.
What the paid plans cost
The prices below cover one camera with three days of video history. The other plan features differ, so the matching history window is a starting point for comparing costs.
| Plan | Payment option | Subscription charge |
|---|---|---|
| Petcube Care Optimal | Monthly | $9.99/month |
| Petcube Care Optimal | Annual | $59.88 upfront each year |
| Furbo Nanny Standard | Monthly, with a standalone camera | $9.99/month |
| Furbo Nanny Standard | Annual bundle offer | $83.92 upfront for year one; about $96 at renewal |
| Furbo Nanny Standard | Two-year bundle offer | $155.85 upfront for the first two years |

Furbo advertises annual renewal as averaging $7.99 a month. We budget $95.88 for that year ($7.99 × 12), but the exact renewal charge may differ slightly because that average is rounded. Its ordinary two-year Standard rate averages $7.49 a month, which also applies after the two-year introduction. Those averages describe prepaid plans, not monthly installments. US pricing, offer details.
Need more time to look back? Care Premium keeps 90 days of history for $16.99 monthly or $143.88 annually. Nanny Premium keeps seven days and costs $12.49 when paid monthly; prepaid discounts are also available. The totals below use Optimal and Standard. Care, Nanny.
Two years of camera and subscription costs
When we checked prices, one Petcube Cam 360 was $46.99, reduced from $52.99, with an adapter included. Furbo was $184 through Camera Only, or $54 with either Standard prepaid bundle above. Furbo lists the adapter separately for $10; we include it in every Furbo total. Petcube store, Furbo store.
These are US-dollar estimates for one camera over 24 months, before tax and any Petcube shipping charge. Furbo’s checked bundles include shipping.
| Purchase and plan | Calculation | Two-year estimate |
|---|---|---|
| Petcube Cam 360, no Care | $46.99 + $0 | $46.99 |
| Petcube Cam 360 + Optimal, annual | $46.99 + 2 × $59.88 | $166.75 |
| Petcube Cam 360 + Optimal, monthly | $46.99 + 24 × $9.99 | $286.75 |
| Furbo Camera Only, no Nanny | $184 + $10 adapter | $194.00 |
| Furbo Camera Only + Standard, monthly | $184 + $10 + 24 × $9.99 | $433.76 |
| Furbo + Standard annual bundle | $54 + $10 + $83.92 + estimated $95.88 renewal | About $244 |
| Furbo + Standard two-year bundle | $54 + $10 + $155.85 prepaid | $219.85 |
The annual Furbo total is $243.80 using the renewal estimate above. The two-year offer saves about $24, but you pay its full $219.85 upfront instead of $147.92 initially for the annual bundle. Furbo does not give partial refunds for unused subscription periods, so prepaying makes more sense if you’re confident you’ll keep the plan. Bundle cancellation.
For Petcube, paying for Optimal annually saves $120 over two years compared with monthly billing. The Furbo monthly row assumes you buy Camera Only and then add Standard; discounted monthly hardware bundles and account-specific offers are outside these totals.
Calculation notes: we count full paid periods without subtracting trial days, and assume prices stay the same apart from the stated introductory offers. Subtract $10 if you already own a compatible Furbo adapter; add $6 to Petcube totals if its device returns to the listed $52.99 price. Electricity, internet, treats, replacements, and other accessories are excluded. Both cameras need a compatible phone, 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi, and a power outlet. Trials, cancellation, and discounted Furbo editions
Petcube includes a 14-day Care trial. Check whether your selected offer starts charging afterward. Paid subscriptions renew automatically; cancel before renewal to avoid another bill. Removing the camera from your account does not cancel Care, and paid periods generally aren’t refundable. Trial, Care terms.
Furbo’s standalone cameras have a 14-day trial, after which you can subscribe or keep the basic features. Paid plans renew automatically. Cancel at least 24 hours before the next term to avoid another charge. Standalone trial, Nanny terms, section 12.
Furbo’s Subscribe & Save and Subscription Required offers have a three-month minimum commitment. That does not make a prepaid year or two-year term refundable after three months: both cancellation pages rule out partial refunds. Subscribe & Save, Subscription Required.
An Amazon Subscription Required edition needs a plan activated during setup. Furbo says basic features remain after cancellation following the initial subscription period. If you want to avoid buying a plan at all, choose the standalone edition and check the listing before ordering. Setup guide.
