K&H vs. Coolaroo: washing dog-cot covers
Compare K&H Original Pet Cot and Coolaroo Original covers: machine washing, drying, replacement fit, and what to check before buying.
If you want a dog-cot cover you can put in the washing machine, K&H’s Original Pet Cot gives you that option; Coolaroo’s Original Elevated Dog Bed does not. K&H specifies a cold, gentle cycle after removing the cover, followed by line drying. Coolaroo calls for washing by hand or hose and air drying. Neither is a wash-and-tumble-dry choice. A removable cover is useful, but it does not automatically belong in the laundry. Follow the instructions for the exact cover you own. For Coolaroo, the care sheet also rules out bleach, chlorine, ironing, solvents and abrasive cleaners. It recommends indoor or covered storage during extended periods out of use. Check the replacement before buying the bed
Both brands sell covers separately, so check that listing alongside the complete cot. K&H explicitly says its cover-only listing does not include the frame. Its site also notes that some colors and sizes are available only through selected retailers. K&H replacement cover
Coolaroo’s Large Original replacement listing identifies the compatible bed as the Original Elevated Dog Bed, Large. That is the kind of match to look for: brand, product line and size together. Our suggested check before ordering:
- Save the complete bed’s model name and selected size, then find its matching replacement cover.
- Name the place where you will wash it and the place where it will dry. If either is awkward, reconsider the routine before buying.
- Compare the full bed price with the cover-only price for your selected size and color, including delivery. Do not mistake the lower cover price for a complete bed.
- If you want a spare for wash day, check its current availability and add it to the purchase total.
