Chewy Autoship: check your next order before it ships
Check your next Chewy Autoship total, quantities, and order date. A short checklist for US pet owners, including the setting that will not delay your next order.

Before your next Chewy Autoship order, check the total, the quantity of each item, and the next order date. One detail is easy to miss: changing the repeat frequency does not move the next order. Chewy says that change takes effect afterward. If the next box is coming too soon, check the next-date setting separately. Chewy’s scheduling instructions
This checklist is for US customers buying everyday supplies, such as waste-bag refills. It is based on Chewy’s published instructions, checked September 12, 2026, rather than a test inside a customer account. There are no affiliate links.
Give the upcoming order a quick once-over
Open the relevant Autoship in your account and compare it with what is already in the cupboard. We suggest keeping these five checks together:
| Check | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Exact item and quantity | Is it the same size or count you meant to buy? How many packs are coming? |
| Total cost | Include shipping and tax. Compare with your previous receipt, not just the large price on a product page. |
| Discount | Does the offer apply to this repeat order and these items? |
| Next order date | Is this the order you wanted to move? |
| Repeat frequency | Does the schedule after this order still fit your household? |
The checklist is our suggested shopping routine. It is especially useful when you have changed pack sizes, bought extra supplies elsewhere, or set up more than one repeating order.
A discount does not freeze the price
Chewy advertises 5% off eligible items on repeat Autoship orders; its first-order promotion is separate. Check the discount on the order you are about to receive. Autoship offer details
Prices and other costs can change between shipments. Under Chewy’s US terms, the product price charged is the pre-shipment email price, or lower if the site price is lower when the order is authorized. Applicable discounts, shipping and sales tax determine the order total. That makes the current reminder more useful than your original signup receipt. Chewy’s pricing terms
You can also compare cost per item when pack sizes differ. Here is a hypothetical waste-bag example, with shipping and tax left out:
- A 120-bag pack costing $12 works out to 10 cents per bag.
- A 100-bag pack costing $11.40 works out to 11.4 cents per bag.
The second pack has a lower sticker price but costs more per bag. These are invented numbers to show the calculation, not current Chewy offers. Compare equivalent bags and include delivery costs before deciding which purchase suits you.
Move the next order and the repeat schedule separately
Chewy’s instructions put the next-date control in Next Order and the repeating interval in Frequency, within Manage Autoship. Changing the next date leaves the frequency alone; changing frequency leaves the next date alone. After editing, read both back. Scheduling help
For example, suppose the cupboard still has a full pack of your usual waste bags. You might want a later next order without changing every future interval. If extra packs keep accumulating, the repeat interval deserves a separate look. Those are household decisions based on what you use, not a recommended ordering schedule.
Review several days ahead. Chewy’s help page says order-date changes are available up to 48 hours before the scheduled order. Its terms describe a separate edit/cancellation window in the pre-shipment notification. Check that deadline too; do not assume you can wait until shipping day. If the order is already processing or the deadline is unclear, contact Chewy before relying on a change. Date-change help, order-window terms
Leave yourself one useful note
Write down what you changed and the next order date you confirmed. If you share shopping duties, put the note somewhere the other person will see it. A line such as “Waste bags moved to next month; repeat interval unchanged” is enough.
Then use the amount you expect to pay in your pet budget. The budget planner can help total your own expenses. Keep the order review short enough that you will do it again when the next reminder arrives.
